Summerlicious at America Restaurant was a pleasant surprise. We were seated on the second floor with a gorgeous view of downtown Toronto with a backdrop of the lake. The service was attentive and gracious.
For anyone who knows me, I'm a huge meat lover and I started off with the Jerk Pork Belly served with picked vegetables and turnips. The pork was juicy and tender enough to melt in your mouth with a bit of kick from the spices. My meal was followed next with the Squid Ink Chitarra Pasta. I was delightfully surprised that the pasta was coated in a beautiful creamy parsley sauce topped off with black garlic. It was the best dish of the day. I ended my meal with American Cheese and Chocolate. I am not a huge fan of the floral taste from lavender, but it does add a unique taste to the overall dish. To finish off the service, passionfruit macaron were compliments from the chef.
